Ask the next editor to maintain one product without the original developer
Choose a fictional catalogue item and have the intended operator update it using the instructions. A practical handover should reveal what access, approval and record knowledge ordinary maintenance requires.
Change a document safely
Replace a test specification, identify its edition and find the pages using it. Check what happens to an old direct link and whether previous quotations still have an interpretable reference. The product owner approves meaning; the editor carries out the agreed publication process.
Follow a request
Start from the item page, prepare a test enquiry in a suitable private environment and locate the receiving record. Confirm the product code, quantity unit and document context. Include an incomplete requirement and an uncertain submission outcome without sending a real RFQ.
Administer access
Identify business owners of hosting, domains, source and provider accounts. Rehearse removal of a departed partner contact while preserving legitimate organisational records. Do not place passwords or API secrets in routine documentation.
Explain an exception and recovery
Show how an operator investigates a rejected transfer and establishes whether a retry is safe. Record known limitations and the support route. A recovery rehearsal should consider newer enquiries, not only restore old site files.
Coverage and recurring responsibilities belong in the written support arrangement. See maintenance and handover or discuss the task that remains undocumented.
